Founded in 2012, Onyx Path Publishing is a Pennsylvania-based company dedicated to the development of exemplary, immersive worlds. Working with a group of amazingly talented creators, we explore print, electronic and other forms of media distribution to make our products available to our fans. With over 20 years of publishing experience from which to draw, we are industry professionals who love the art of the game and plan to continue making meaningful, innovative contributions in the years to come.

Hello Scions,

We're still a few months away from our projected delivery date for the Scion: God PDF and the team are working hard behind the scenes on our rewards, but I do have some fun Scion news for you as I send our final update for the year!

Just before we finish up in December, Onyx Path has put up the Advance PDF version of Scion: Once & Future for purchase on DriveThruRPG.com.

SCION: ONCE & FUTURE

The Pendragon’s Mantle lies incomplete, an unfinished story waiting for the right Scion to fill the role. Will you complete Arthur’s legend? Or are you doomed to fail, like so many others?

Once and Future supplements Origin through Demigodplay, discussing the power of Mantles and the threat of failure that leaves behind unfinished legends.

Once and Future contains:

  • Brand-new Welsh pantheon: the Plant Dôn
  • Storyguiding advice for running Arthurian-themed campaigns at all three levels of play
  • New rules for playing historical games
  • Three adventures at each level of play, meant to be enjoyed in a sequence or slotted independently into ongoing Scion Second Edition games

Hello Scions,

I'm getting snow where I live, so that means it's time for our monthly update!
Things tend to slow down in terms of production as we get closer to the end of the year, so I don't expect any big news for 2023. I'll continue to post updates each month tracking our progress, and hopefully we'll see some fun things in 2024!

So, some slight movement this month. Our main book has begun Art Direction, where art notes are written up by the team for the Art Director to assign to artists. The Companion book has moved forward into edition, and Divine Inspiration is now in post-Editing development, where the Developers ensure the tone and voice is consistent throughout after applying all of the edits.

Never before has Creation known the perils of the Abyssal Exalted. They have emerged from the gloom of the Underworld as champions of death, sworn to the service of the Deathlords and the Neverborn. Each was offered the gift of the Bleak Exaltation at the moment of their own demise, and each chose to willingly become an agent of the apocalypse. Their motivations are as manifold as any others — they may seek destruction or domination, malice or justice, ancient secrets hidden and forbidden or sheer iron-willed survival.

In service to their lieges, these deathknights will grind the Underworld to heel and scour life from the face of Creation. Or…they might break from those oaths and set themselves up as death’s own Lawgivers, ruling empires of the dead as sages, arbiters, and reapers. All that can be known for sure is that with the Abyssal Exalted loosed upon the world, it will never be the same again.

Hello Scions,

No big news for this update, but some nice progress on our tracking chart. Before I get to that, though, I've got a quick reminder about Onyx Path's current Scion project.

FINAL 48ish HOURS FOR TITANS RISING

Titans Rising builds on the foundations of Scion: Titanomachy, explaining the grand conflict between the Gods and Titans. It delves into the very heart of Titanhood, revealing that some Titans truly are just misunderstood and that conflict based on whom someone’s parents are is problematic at best. The book presents Titanic Scions — not just as playable characters, but as heroes, despite their bitter conflicts with some of Scion's more established names, like Eric Donner, Yukiko Kuromizu, and Little Mao. Can your game’s Scions repair the rift between Gods and Titans? How many Titans are better than their reputation and which Gods are worse than theirs? Whom can your Scions trust and whom must be destroyed once and for all?

Beyond moral quandaries, Titans Rising also opens wide the doors of player options for Titanic characters, including new ways to engage in high level gameplay as leaders of a besieging army who seek to reclaim their homeland from the Gods. And for games fighting on the Gods’ side of the Titanomachy, there are numerous plot seeds, adversaries, and Birthrights to be used against the Titans and their Scions.

The project has funded and already added some Stretch Goals including two new supplements. If you join in now, you're able to read the entire current draft of the manuscript before any pledges are processed on Thursday!

This Kickstarter is so that we can traditionally print Titanomachy and also its sequel: Titans Rising! TR is entirely new to y’all, and of course, Titanomachy has already been a smash-hit in PDF and PoD versions on DTRPG! It got such a great response that we figure that getting it traditionally printed and into stores along with its sequel will give a whole ‘nother audience a chance to check them out!
