What can I say? WE DID IT!

Working together, we've managed to fund the development and production of Scion: God, the ultimate epic rulebook for the Scion Second Edition game line!



An incredible next step in the Scion story!

I'm really pleased with our success so far. I think the team knew that the Scion fans would be eager to support this 4th Book for Scion Second Edition, but testing out a new platform and exploring different partnerships always presents a mystery. Well, that mystery has been solved! Our Scions will become Gods!   

Now that we've accomplished our main task, let's see if we can't add a few additional options for backers and maybe start building some supplemental content.

As we increase the overall funding and support for the project, we’re able to add additional resources to the project, expand the rewards listed, and add in new offers and opportunities. Each Stretch Goal will have a target that, once reached, will add a project to the reward list for backers of the relevant Stretch Goal path. Whenever we achieve a stretch goal, the image will be updated to reflect the achievement.


At $50,000 in Funding - New Add On: Scion: God Storyguide Reference Screen! – We’ll create a Scion: God Reference Screen with new charts and tables, and updated artwork to reflect the ongoing journey of the characters introduced on the Origin/Hero screen. This can be added to any reward tier containing a hardcover book for only +$25 (plus additional international shipping charges based on your location).

At $60,000 in Funding – Scion: God Companion Supplement – Scion: God is a complex game, covering running religions, killing Gods, managing Realms, and possibly even running games where players play multiple Incarnation of the same God. This has huge potential for confusion. Onyx Path will create a Companion supplement for Scion: God that will explain some concepts in more detail, as well as provide evocative and fun examples. All backers receiving the Scion: God PDF as one of their rewards will automatically receive the Scion: God Companion PDF as a bonus reward.

So, just getting started! We've got the back half of October and the first half of November to see if we can't build some epic supplements and maybe have a few celebrations along the way!

Please continue to spread the word in your social circles and on your social media! As noted, most of our backers are familiar with BackerKit (we've used it as our Pledge Manager for more than 40 projects!), but this new avenue for crowdfunding may need a little more help to get the word out! Let's see if we can't recruit more Heroes and Demigods who are ready to take that next step!

Hello Scions!

Welcome aboard! As noted in my first Discussion Post (if you haven't checked it out yet, drop in and say hi), I'm James - your humble Crowdfunding Concierge for this Onyx Path project.



And what a project it is! The epic next step in the journey that begin with Scion: Origin and Scion: Hero and continued through Scion: Demigod has arrived! Scion: God takes that incredible next step in the journey of Scion Second Edition, possibly bringing your characters to their ultimate conclusion.

And even as same journeys may be coming to a close - or at least a culminating chapter - we're starting a new venture at the same time! A brand new Crowdfunding platform built by our friends at BackerKit.

We're very happy to be along as part of their beta test roll out. We've been partners with BackerKit, using their Pledge Manager for more than 40 projects, and are looking forward to helping them grow this side of their business and introduce new opportunities for companies to interact with their fans and supporters. As mentioned, this platform is still in beta mode, so we'll all be learning about it as we go, and hopefully making tweaks as we go. 

Over the next 30 days as we explore this Ultimate stage for our Scions, we’ll be previewing the complete approved draft manuscript for Scion: God. The first few manuscript downloads will be posted in an update just like this! Eventually, in a few weeks, we'll have them behind a Backers-only wall so that you'll have to be a supporter of this project to read them. But, that's info for a few weeks from now (when the BackerKit team has figured out how to code that!) For now, you can find the first manuscript preview below...

Upcoming Preview Schedule

Over the next 4 weeks, we’ll be able to download all of the chapters contained within this book. There’s a lot of content, but as outlined above, it’ll be coming out in digestible sections. By the end of this campaign, we’ll have posted every word in the current manuscript – you’ll be able to read along and see exactly what this book contains and how it’s put together before the campaign concludes and before any payments are processed!

That said, note that these documents are previews of the current draft manuscript – the document in its latest, approved form. This may not be the final form after any additional development, but you can consider it about 95% finished, so keep that in mind.
